Lynn Gilmartin, Producer: World Poker Tour. Lynn Gilmartin is an Australian actress, poker player and Hall of Fame sportscaster, best known for her role as anchor of the World Poker Tour (2003) on Fox Sports. Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1984, Lynn’s family moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1986. Gilmartin first hit television screens as the host of 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship (2013). The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting the final table of each tournament. Welcome to the official World Poker Tour. 17 October 2016 Tags: Lee Davy, Mel Gibson, Vince Vaughn, World Poker Tour Foundation Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn are amongst the hosts for the upcoming Four Kings and an Ace charity poker. The World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $75,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event drew a record field of 753 entries in 2016, creating a $5,346,300 prize pool. In the end the lion’s share.
Since the very first episode of the World Poker TourMike Sexton has been the voice of the popular televised poker show alongside co-commentator Vince Van Patten. After fifteen years in the booth Sexton has finally broken through on the other side of the broadcast, topping a field of 648 entries to win the 2016 partpoker.net WPT Montreal $3,850 CAD no-limit hold’em main event. The 69-year-old took home $317,896 USD and added his name to the list of WPT champions.
This was Sexton’s third time at a WPT final table. WPT Raw Deal host Tony Dunst filled in for Sexton at the commentary booth while the former Ohio State collegiate gymnast and member of the 82nd Airborne Division played his way to the title.
Sexton, a WSOP bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Fame member, was also awarded 1,260 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. This was only his second POY-qualified score of the year, but this win alone was enough to move him just outside of the top 200.
Sexton came into the final table as the chip leader and eliminated both Ema Zajmovic in 5th place ($76,127) and Nadir Lalji in 3rd place ($136,806) to keep pace with Benny Chen. Chen had knocked out a Ilan Bojenah in 4th place ($99,067) and won a few key pots to see him over take the lead from Sexton as the final table got short handed.
Heads-up play began with Chen holding 10,750,000 to Sexton’s 8,700,000. It had taken only 106 hands to narrow the field from six players to two. It took 158 more hands to decide a winner.
Chen held the lead for most of the battle, but Sexton mounted several come backs and was able to just keep the dream alive as the blinds rose higher and higher. Late in the battle Chen had whittled Sexton down to just over five blinds when Sexton was able to win an all-in with J10 against Chen’s A8. Just six hands later Sexton had taken the chip lead. Two hands after that it was all over.
With blinds of 300,000 – 600,000 with an ante of 75,000 Chen moved all in for 8,150,000 from the button with the KJ. Sexton quickly called and flipped up the QQ. The flop brought the Q94 to give Seton top set and Chen the inside straight draw. The turn brought the A and Sexton simply had to avoid a ten on the river to become a WPT champion.
The 2 fit the bill, securing the pot for Sexton and sending Chen to the rail as the runner up with $213,515 USD.

Grosvenor casino bolton new years eve. The 2016 World Series Of Poker November Nine was finalized late Monday evening, as the remaining competitors will take a months-long break before battling it out for the $8 million top prize and the coveted main event bracelet.
The finalists are chip leader and two-time bracelet winner Cliff Josephy (74,600,000), Qui Nguyen (67,925,000), Gordon Vayo (49,375,000), Kenny Hallaert (43,325,000), Michael Ruane (31,600,000), Vojtech Ruzicka (27,300,000), Griffin Benger (26,175,000), Jerry Wong (10,175,000) and Fernando Pons (6,150,000). They are each guaranteed a seven-figure payday. Below is a detailed look at the card players.
The final table bubble was Josh Weiss, who entered 10-handed play with just a handful of blinds. It didn’t take long before Weiss was gone and the finalists started celebrating.
The main event this year had a prize pool of $63,327,800, of which roughly $25.5 million will be awarded to the final nine players.
The 6,737-player starting field was the most the main event has had in five years. A total of 1,011 players made the money, the most in the history of the event. The WSOP gave each player a starting stack of 50,000, up from 30,000 in previous years. There are more than 336 million chips in play.
Eighty countries were represented in the main event, and the average player age was just above 40. The final table’s average age is just over 35 years.
Notable eliminations on day 7 included 2009 November Niner Antoine Saout (25th for $269,430), eight-time WSOP Circuit champion Valentin Vornicu (23rd for $269,430), high-stakes cash game player Jared Bleznick (16th for $338,288), 2010 Card PlayerPOY winner Tom Marchese (14th for $427,930) and Australian poker pro James Obst (13th for $427,930).
Marchese, who has more than $13 million in lifetime tournament earnings, was the best player entering day 7 and was looking for his first WSOP bracelet. After exiting the feature table stage, Marchese was met by Phil Hellmuth, who told him that he’d “be back here again.”World Poker Tour Hostess 2016 Winner
“All you can do is try to pay attention to the action, and get some reads on your opponents,” Marchese said of playing against so many unfamiliar faces in the no-limit hold’em championship. “Obviously you can generalize with a bunch of players based on where they are from or what they look like. All I could do was make the best decisions based on the information I had.”World Poker Tour Hostess 2016 2019
Even though there was $8 million up top, Marchese said the main event was basically just another day in the office. He has five seven-figure scores to his name. “I’ve played for a lot of money in a bunch of [tournaments] and this wasn’t really any different. I was fortunate enough to go as far as I did, but at the end unfortunate to not go further. It is what it is.”
